In the heart of Homa Bay County, lies a village where tradition meets innovation in the form of the Oriang Women Pottery Group. For generations, these women have upheld the ancient art of pottery-making, a skill passed down from mothers to daughters, weaving a rich tapestry of culture and community. The traditional pots were used for cooking and storing water. However the use of aluminum to make cooking pots has not only replaced this rich culture, but the women believe it is also the cause of some lifestyle diseases. Marie Yambo with the story.
