Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers are calling on the government to absorb 46,000 intern teachers on permanent and pensionable terms to comply with the law. KUPPET Deputy Secretary General Moses Nthurima says following the court's judgment stopping the employment of intern teachers, the fate of teachers who are the backbone of junior secondary schools remains in limbo. KUPPET is also calling on the government to remit capitation to schools as soon as possible to ensure smooth operation as schools reopen next week
