12,000 people displaced by floods from their homes in Homa Bay County, are now calling on the government to help them secure food and better shelter. The displaced families now camping at Osodo, Simbi, and Sindo camps, say the condition at the camps are harsh, and want the government to improve food and non-food supplies. While on a visit to the Sindo camp, Governor Gladys Wanga appealed to the government, to provide assistance to the county.
