President William Ruto has said Civil Society Organizations have the power and chance to make meaningful contributions to the country’s development. Speaking when he officially closed the two-day United Nation's Civil Society Conference in Nairobi, President Ruto at the same time said Kenya has consolidated the operations of the Civil Society into one predictable legal regime as opposed to a cocktail of laws that used to govern the NGO’s. The two-day United Nation's Civil Society Conference in Nairobi happened ahead of the Summit of the Future in September 2024 at the UN Headquarters in New York.
