The family of the Kenyan mountaineer Joshua Cheruiyot Kirui who died during an expedition on Mount Everest will require 25m shillings to repatriate the body back to the country. According to BBC, Kirui’s friend Kipkemoi Limo had indicated that the deceased family had enquired whether Kirui had given consent for his body to be buried on Everest or wished for it to be brought back home. The 40-year-old Kirui from Kericho is said to have gone missing near the summit of Mount Everest on Wednesday in the company of his guide after they reportedly attempted to climb the mountain without sufficient Oxygen.
