Okoa Uchumi Initiative sounds alarm: 70% of government revenue goes to debt repayment

The okoa uchumi initiative says ksh 7 out of every ksh 10 made by the government goes towards repying public debt. In it's latest report, the initiative which brings together several rights group, points out that the economy is in a dire situation and calls for a disclosure of all loans especially with regard to amount and creditors, a ban on supplementary budgets and the scrapping of NG-CDF . The report indicates that domestic borrowing mainly benefits wealthy lenders and transfers wealth from the poor to the rich.
