The late Principal Magistrate Monica Kivuti has today been laid to rest in Yatta Machakos County. Speaking in the burial today, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said that Machakos County has witnessed the brunt of police brutality through the killing of Monica and Rex Masai, a youthful protester who died in last Thursday’s protests against the finance bill 2024. Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu has asked Kenyans to stop killing judicial officers in the line of duty. Leaders who attended the burial strongly advocated for better systems in court that will ensure judges, magistrates and other court staff are protected.
