The county government of Meru has refuted a report by the Controller of Budget that indicates the county spent Ksh. 1 Billion on foreign travel within nine months. Meru county executive member for finance Ibrahim Mutwiri in dismissing the report said the county assembly’s expenditure on foreign trips amounted to Ksh 42.84 million while the office of the governor had spent Ksh 910,000 shillings as at March 2024.
