Ruto takes over as COMESA chair, pushes for single air market and open borders

The 24th Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Heads of State Summit has resolved to eliminate visa restrictions among member countries to boost trade, investment, tourism, and regional economic integration. President William Ruto, who assumed office as the new chairperson of the regional trade bloc, also announced plans to operationalize a single air transport market to ease the movement of goods, services, and people across member states
