Anti-government demonstrations across the nation continued for the better part of the day as police engaged protestors in running battles. In Makueni county two people died on the spot after sustaining gunshot wounds with several injured. In Kitengela Kajiado county, one person is also feared dead in today's melee as angry protestors barricaded the Nairobi-Namanga highway. Elsewhere, police arrested one person in Machakos county for leading others in the protests. Hundreds of youths marched to the station to demand release of their own. However, their efforts were thwarted by the police. Protesters in Nyeri, Kakamega, and Bungoma also joined in the protests.
