The President of the United States of America Joe Biden has ended his re-election campaign and endorsed Vice-President Kamala Harris to succeed him as the Democratic candidate. Biden, 81, said in a Sunday written statement that it was the "greatest honor" to serve but his withdrawal was "in the best interest of the party and the country". Vice-President Kamala Harris said that she was "honored" to be endorsed even as Biden's decision elicited reactions from world leaders.
