SUPKEM disassociates from case seeking President Ruto's removal

    The Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) has officially distanced itself from a court case seeking a referendum to remove President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua from office. SUPKEM National Chairman Alhaji Hassan Ole Naado stated that the council was not consulted before being named as an interested party. According to Ole Naado, consequently, SUPKEM will not file a response to the application and plans to request the court to remove it from the case.The case, which alleges constitutional violations, incompetence, and a lack of public trust, was filed by activist Cyprian Nyamwamu and 13 others.
