Kericho leaders dismiss KTDA's explanation on bonus disparities

Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot and Governor Dr. Erick Mutai have criticized the Kenya Tea Development Agency over what they term as unjustified disparities in tea bonus payments between farmers in the East and West of the Rift valley. The two leaders dismissed KTDA's claim that tea from the western region is of lower quality and urged the agency to review its payment formula to ensure equity. They warned that continued discrimination could demoralize farmers and undermine the tea sector’s contribution to the national economy
