Health crisis in Kiambu county got worse after doctors fully withdrew from all health facilities and staged demonstrations along the streets. The Doctors under the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union who were on 138th day of the strike, accused the county of playing politics with people’s lives. The union has embarked on a collection of signatures in the county to petition the president to dissolve the county. Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale waded into the protracted strike, calling for an urgent resolution to what he describes as a full-blown health crisis.
