Scores of students from needy families are uncertain of joining university on account of insufficient funds from government. The students who applied for government funding have been placed in higher bands than their economic realities cannot sustain. The students and their families now want the government to relook at the criteria used in the placement of students to access funds. Brenda Wanga spoke to a couple of such students who say they may have to forgo their studies if the government does not step in.
