The Employment and Labour Relations Court has temporary suspended the ongoing teachers strike called by the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET). The Teachers Service Commission had moved to court arguing that concerns raised by the striking teachers had already been addressed. This as the government says all teachers in public schools will by the end of this week get their July and August salaries increment after it released 13.5 billion shillings as part of the 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). As Fredrick Parsayo reports, parents have been assured of the safety of students who continue reporting back to schools for the third term amid confusion over the strike called by KUPPET.
