The national police service commission has confirmed a salary increase for police officers ranging from 4,000 to 25,000 shillings. NPSC chairman Eliud Kinuthia also announced the promotion of 1957 police officers aged 53 to 59 to boost morale as they approach mandatory retirement. Meanwhile, Kinuthia has urged the acting inspector general, Gilbert Masengelli, to halt any promotions until a substantial IG is confirmed.
