Gender equity advocates are calling for increased participation of women in elective politics. According to Uraia Trust Executive Director, Oliver Waindi, research shows women leaders especially those holding governorship positions in the country have performed exemplarily.Waindi made the remarks in Kericho County during a three-day gender champions' workshop. Uraia Trust, a Non-Governmental Organizaion in partnership with United Nations Women is currently implementing a project for women inclusion in governance, advocacy and decision-making skills in Kericho, Kajiado, Embu, Wajir, Homa Bay and Samburu Counties.
