12 people have been reported dead following a tragic road accident in Ikanga area, Taita Taveta County along Nairobi - Mombasa highway. Confirming the incident, Voi Sub-County Police Commander Bernastain Shali said the accident involved a 14-seater matatu belonging to Chania Genesis Sacco which collided head-on with a truck at around 4:20 pm. Three people were injured in the accident and were rushed to Moi Referral Hospital in Voi where they are receiving treatment. Police have launched investigations into the incident which occurred shortly past 4pm this evening.
