A family in Emakoko village, Tuala, Ongata Rongai is in pain and agony following the death of their 13-year-old daughter who was killed by a lioness roaming the area. Peace Mwende, a grade seven student met her death when the lioness struck their home while she was playing with her two friends before taking off with her. Kenya Wildlife Services rangers have launched an operation to capture the lioness which has been causing havoc in the area.
