Chief justice Martha Koome now says the judiciary is set to construct a state of the art supreme court building to improve on the work environment for judges and officers of the court. Reflecting on her 100 days in office, Koome says a milestone has been reached in enabling the appointment and swearing in of 34 judges of court of appeal saying this will operationalize dormant courts across the country. However, a backlog of cases continues to hinder access to justice. Koome says a strategy is place and all cases would be cleared in three years after filing.
