2007-2008 IDP’s set to receive compesation

The National government in the final stages of releasing funds for victims of the 2007-2008 post- election violence in Nyanza and Western Regions.The IDP’S are set to receive a total of sh. 3.7billion following a successful petition that was lodged in parliament by Seme Member of National Assembly Dr. James Nyikal demanding prompt compensation of the victims. Speaking in Kisumu County the chairperson of Kisumu County IDPs Nerea Otieno, also called on the government to take action on the emerging cartels taking advantage of such situations.
