Senators have warned governors against misuse and misappropriation of the equalization monies that are meant facilitate access to essential services in marginalized areas in various counties. While debating the Equalization Fund Appropriations Bill 2025 that will see 34 counties benefit from the 16.8bn allocated for improvement of essential projects, senators however regretted that implementation of the fund has not been seamless. This being the second time the monies are being disbursed, the lawmakers pointed out some disparity in the distribution of the monies that requires enhanced oversight to ensure the targeted objective is achieved
