Over 60 practitioners are set to undergo training on how to assess and certify skilled artisans in the informal sector. The training is part of government’s plan to formally recognize jua kali artisans who lack formal training but are skilled in their respective fields. Speaking at the launch of the second phase training workshop in Nairobi, Kenya school of Technical, Vocational Education and training Chief Executive Officer Dr. Edwin Tarno said they are committed to ensure those with skills but lack formal training can access business opportunities locally and abroad.
