The Mandera County Government has disbursed the third round of bursary fees for all secondary schools in the region. A total of 61 public secondary schools in Mandera are set to benefit from Kshs 74 million in bursary funds.
A significant sum of Kshs 9,150,000 has already been disbursed to cover the costs of the last two academic terms. This funding initiative was launched on January 16, 2023, to provide relief to parents affected by the prolonged drought in the area.
According to the County Executive Committee Member for Education, Bashir Ibrahim Alio, the county will also subsidize fees for certain students studying at Turkish universities and the Mandera Technical Training Institute.
