The Abagusii Cultural and Development Council has warned political leaders across the political divide in the vast Gusii region against politicking at funerals saying such platforms culturally are meant to show last respect to the deceased and their families. Addressing the press on Friday in Kisii town, the council's chairman Araka Matundura said that in Gusii region politicians have taken advantage of such platforms and are using them to make political statements and spew hatred at each other which at times leads to chaos. During the meeting which also incorporated a section of the clergy from Kisii, the elders vowed to help in fostering peaceful coexistence among residents and politicians alike.
