Armed goons raid Fairways Hotel in Kisumu

Police in Kisumu have launched investigations into the circumstances under which a gang of about 100 people vandalized a hotel, carting away valuable items from the establishment. During the Wednesday morning fiasco, former PS Irungu Nyakera fired in the air in an attempt to disperse the gang, which was armed with crude weapons. And as Laura Otieno now tells us, reports have emerged of a rent dispute touching on the establishment, with owner citing abuse of power by the police in attempts to kick him off the property.
