Barua za mapenzi za miaka 250 zafunguliwa kwa mara ya kwanza
Barua zilizochukuliwa na Jeshi la Uingereza kabla ya kuwafikia Mabaharia wa Ufaransa wakati wa Vita vilivyodumu kwa Miaka Saba zimefunguliwa kwa mara ya kwanza.
Ziliandikwa mwaka 1757-8, zilitumwa kutoka kwa wapendwa wao kwenda kwa wafanyakazi kwenye meli ya kivita ya Ufaransa, lakini hazikuwafikia.
Prof Renaud Morieux kutoka Chuo Kikuu cha Cambridge, ambaye aligundua barua hizo, alisema zinatoa uelewa wa kuvutia kuhusu maisha ya Mabaharia na familia zao katika miaka ya 1700.
Katika barua hizo ipo kutoka kwa mke, mama akihoji mtoto wake kwa kukaa kimya na kutomuandikia.
