Lawyers representing detained ugandan opposition leader Kizza Besigye now say they cannot tell whether a search by the directorate of criminal investigations at a hotel room where he was captured, interfered with the scene, or if the detectives carried away any material. Advocate Eris Lukwago, who flew from Uganda to assess the scene of the abduction, says they have collected items left behind when Besigye was abducted in Nairobi. Lukwago says the opposition veteran is still in custody, bearing up against mistreatment amid health concerns.
