CBK defends the proposed law with stringent regulations

    The proposed Anti-Money Laundering and Combating of Terrorism Financing Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2023, is in line with global standards. Speaking before the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning, Central Bank of Kenya Governor Dr. Kamau Thugge, said the bill highlights legal and policy reforms which will address compliance deficiencies identified in a recent report, released by the Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group.
