There was drama at a public baraza in Ngomongo area of Kutus, Kirinyaga county, after a chief and his assistant escaped the wrath of Kirinyaga county commissioner Hussein Allasow who threatened to sack them in public, with the administrators only spared because of pleas from members of the public for their forgiveness. The two earned the county commissioner's wrath after the seizure of illicit brew at a den in the locality, and the arrest of a suspect who had Ksh 1 million in cash. Regional commissioner Hussein Allasow sought explanation from the duo on where they were when the raid took place and why they had not moved against the brewer before the larger security team took action. The chief and his assistant were allowed to continue serving, but warned that the illicit brew menace must be stopped.
