Long regarded as a symbol of neglect, the site is now undergoing a remarkable transformation. Backed by a KSh35 million investment from the Kisii County Government, the former dumpsite has been converted into a modern recreational park, in a project aimed at restoring the environment, improving public spaces and reshaping the face of the town. Citizen TV’s Chrispine Otieno visited the site and now tells us how one of Kisii’s biggest environmental eyesores is being given a new lease of life.
