Coast ODM leaders back Ruto’s 2027 re-election bid

ODM leaders from the Coast region have unanimously thrown their weight behind President William Ruto’s bid for re-election in 2027, signalling a major political shift as coalition negotiations gather momentum. Addressing supporters in Mombasa and Kwale Counties, the leaders, led by Mining Cabinet Secretary Ali Hassan Joho, said the Coast region is firmly positioning itself in the emerging political realignment. The leaders also indicated that the region is eyeing the Deputy President position as ODM–UDA coalition talks get underway.
