Consumers are set to pay less for their electricity bills following an announcement by Kenya Power. The distributor says consumers on their lowest tariff will see nearly fourteen percent reduction in their power bills from this month In a statement, the company attributes the decrease to the strengthening of the Kenya Shilling and a reduction in the cost of fuel that is used to generate electricity. Consequently customers consuming less than thirty units will pay 629 shillings for this month, compared to 729 shillings for similar units last month. Those consuming an average of between 31 to 100 units will see their power bills drop by 11.2 percent, while customers using more than 100 units per month will pay 9.7 percent less from their bills.
