The Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) has clarified that the 12% wage increase announced by the President on Labour Day will apply to all workers, irrespective of their current cadre.
Speaking in Kisumu, COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli said the increase will cushion Kenyans from the high cost of living occasioned by current global shocks. During Labour Day celebrations in Vihiga, President Ruto announced a 12% increase in general wages and a 15% increase in wages for workers in the agricultural sector.
