Council of Governors refuses to attend Senate public account sessions, defies Kingi’s directive

The council of governors has refused to budge in the face-off with the senate maintaining that county leaders will not attend the senate's county public account committee sessions, defying senate speaker Amason Kingi's directive to have all governors appear to account for public spending. The differences between the senate and the council governors played out at the senate retreat in Naivasha where their leadership stuck to their guns in the wake of heated correspondence on the matter.
