The High Court of Kenya has declared collection of biometric data from Kenyans by cryptocurrency firm Worldcoin as unlawful, citing the company’s failure to conduct a mandatory data protection impact assessment. Justice Roselyne Aburili ordered a permanent deletion of all biometric data collected using its eye-scanning "ORB" devices within 7 days.
