The government is tonight telling Kenyans to prepare for tough times ahead since it has no control over the skyrocketing global fuel prices. Energy Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir admits that the government is helpless and cannot cushion Kenyans against high prices of fuel. Appearing before the Departmental National Assembly Committee on Energy, CS Chirchir and EPRA Managing Director Daniel Kiptoo ruled out the return of fuel subsidies as an immediate intervention, instead rooting for an increase in allocation in the Fuel Stabilization Fund.
