Information communication and digital economy Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo now wants parliament to co-regulate TikTok instead of banning it. Appearing before the National Assembly petitions committee, Owalo said banning TikTok will deny millions of youth daily earnings and cause a mass exit of private sectors operating in digital spaces. A section of MPs however is concerned about the government's capacity to regulate the content before it's published on TikTok.
