Data Point | President Ruto, DP Gachagua chew millions of shillings in foreign and domestic travel

Tonight the controller of budget is reporting a 34 per cent rise in the travel expenditure incurred by the national government. Details have also emerged from the report of the controller of budget covering the full financial year to June 2024 that it cost the taxpayer at least 21 million shillings to sponsor thirteen senior government officials to the US during President Ruto’s state visit in May this year.
