Dialysis crisis in Kirinyaga as most machines break down

A crisis looms in Kirinyaga County for kidney disease patients after the dialysis machines in the county failed. The machines stationed at the Kerugoya General Hospital to serve the entire county’s kidney disease population have been breaking down sequentially for the last five months. Currently, only two out of the eight machines are working, leaving hundreds of patients stranded and in need of urgent help.
