A section of doctors associated with Nairobi hospital said they reached out to President William Ruto to help save the facility from collapse. Six doctors, among them prominent cardiologist Dr. David Silverstein, said they sought presidential intervention after months of efforts to bring rival groups together and stabilize the hospital. As stephen letoo reports, the doctors have also exonerated one of their colleagues, Dr. Job Obwaka, from any wrongdoing, saying the doctor arrested over the weekend was not a member of the board at the time the alleged offence was committed, for which he was charged today.
