Duale dismisses KSh11B SHA loss claims, warns on fraudulent hospital bills

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has dismissed claims that 11 billion shillings of public funds was lost under the social health authority (SHA) scheme. Duale said the money in question involves irregular claims submitted by various hospitals at the moment amounting to 12.7 billion shillings and will not be paid if investigations confirm that the documents are fraudulent. He also announced that SHA will cover up to 500,000 shillings for patients seeking treatment abroad, provided the overseas hospitals have a formal partnership agreement with SHA
