Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has reiterated that farmers who purchased the sub-standard fertilizer will all be compensated. Speaking in Mombasa Mwaura has also confirmed that the fertilizer in question which was supplied byKEL Chemicals Company was of sub-standard quality and actions will be taken against suppliers and KEBS officials. Eight senior officials at the Kenya Bureau of Standards have already been suspended over the issuance of certification and marks of quality to two companies, which have been linked to the sub-standard fertilizer.
