A framework to support market access of key crops in east Africa is in the offing. The East Africa Business Council is developing the self-regulation safety and standard framework for coffee, vegetables and fruits. In addition to setting up the standards, the council is also pushing for harmonization of the same in the region in a bid to eliminate trade barriers in the market.
