Education report proposes changes in universities

The recruitment of academic and administrative Heads of Universities will no longer be conducted by the Public Service Commission, should the recommendations by the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms be implemented. Prof. Raphael Munavu led taskforce, attributes the poor performance by many universities to the lack of credibility in the appointment process which they say is often marred with ethnic considerations and political interference as opposed to merit.
