Education stakeholders in Bungoma county are urging the Teachers Service Commission to employ on a permanent and pensionable basis 20,000 Junior Secondary School Teachers in the area citing an earlier agreement. Led by Bungoma County Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers-KUPPET organizing secretary Denis Walela, the stakeholders say the withdrawal of finance bill 2024 should not be used as an excuse to derail the employment of the JSS teachers . The stakeholders are also urging the government to reinstate the students’ health insurance fund.
