The High Court in Embu has dismissed a preliminary objection filed by a section of residents living in the disputed 44, 000 acres Mwea Settlement Scheme land, seeking to dismiss a petition by a group of elders from Mbeere Community who are laying claim over the land. In their objection, the residents, sought to have the petition struck out on the grounds that the court did not have jurisdiction to hear the case.
