Israel inatarajia kuendelea na operesheni kamili ya kijeshi huko Gaza kwa wiki nyingine sita hadi nane wakati ikijitayarisha kuivamia Rafah, maafisa wanne wanaoufahamu mkakati huo wamesema. Wakuu wa Jeshi wanaamini wanaweza kuharibu vikali uwezo wa kijeshi uliosalia wa Hamas kwa kipindi hicho, ikitoa njia kuhamia katika awamu ya mashambulizi ya malengo ya nguvu ya chini na operesheni ya majeshi maalum, kulingana na maafisa wawili wa Israeli na maafisa wa ukanda wakiomba kutotajwa majina yao ili waweze kuwa huru kuongea.
