Exotic dogs are becoming increasingly popular among Kenya's middle class with many shunning local breeds for rare imports. This boom has seen a rush of breeders enter the market, offering a variety of foreign breeds. And even as animal welfare experts warn against unethical breeding practices, pedigree breeders continue to carve out a niche for themselves.
